Articles 52-78 in Part 5 of the Constitution of India deal with the Union Executive. The Union Executive consists of the President, the Vice-President, the Prime Minister, the Council of Ministers and the Attorney-General of India.

- He acts as the symbol of Unity, Integrity and Solidarity of the nation.

- Oath or Affirmation: By the Chief Justice of India or the senior most judge of Supreme Court
- Residence: Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, India
- Salary: Rs. 500, 000 (US$7, 200) per month (Budget, 2018)
- He can resign from his office at any time by addressing the resignation letter to the Vice-President.
- He can also removed from the office before completion of his time by the process of impeachment.
